电影《声名狼藉》根据乔治·普林顿的原著改编，讲述了杜鲁门·卡波特在哈珀·李的帮助下，采访凶手佩里·史密斯，最终写出了举世名作的故事。听起来，本片的剧情与去年奥斯卡获奖电影《卡波特》极为相似，不过不同的是，《声名狼藉》将侧重点放在了卡波特与青梅竹马的友人哈珀·李的关系上。同时本片也云集了大批巨星，包括新任007丹尼尔·克雷格、好莱坞甜姐儿桑德拉·布洛克以及奥斯卡得主格温妮斯·帕尔特洛等等。On November 16, 1959, Truman Capote reads about the murder of a Kansas family. There are no suspects. With Harper Lee, he visits the town: he wants to write about their response. First he must get locals to talk, then, after arrests, he must gain access to the prisoners. One talks constantly; the other, Perry Smith, says little. Capote is implacable, wanting the story, believing this book will establish a new form of reportage: he must figure out what Perry wants. Their relationship becomes something more than writer and character: Perry killed in cold blood, the state will execute him in cold blood; does Capote get his story through cold calculation, or is there a price for him to pay?
